What has God been doing in my life?

Well...He has led me into a ministry with the elderly people in our community and provided me with a position as secretary in our local Nursing Home/Assisted Living Center. Through this experience I have learned to rely on Him even more and I have also learned and had opportunity to practice many skills needed to help an office run smoothly. I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent working in the business office of this facility since 10/3/2002.

God has also provided me with an opportunity to be an influence in the lives of several young children through teaching piano. I keep my teaching schedule pretty full with about 10 students most of the time. I love teaching piano and I pray that the Lord will use me as a Godly example in the lives of these young children.

I have been studying the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures for about one year now and I really love learning the language. I cannot speak Spanish fluently yet, but in time...:) I have a desire to teach English as a Second Language. I have helped some Spanish speaking people in our community learn a little bit of English in the last few months, but I find it hard to make time to do this on a regular basis.

God has made it possible for me to begin college work from home through CLEP testing and distance education courses. Yes, believe it or not, it is possible to learn Spanish and get college credit in the process without actually going into a classroom. Distance learning has been a challenge for me, but I am now half way to completion of a B.A. with an English major - so it is all worth it.
